From a childhood affinity for dark chords to designing for the BBC, Double Triangle crafts escapist, melody-led music that's perfect for work, study, or simple enjoyment.
A Life Shaped by Music
Double Triangle is not your run-of-the-mill music producer. Growing up in Harlow, Essex—a sister New Town to Basildon, the birthplace of Depeche Mode—music was always a significant part of his life. His grandfather, a plumber to stars like Dave Gilmour and Kate Bush, exposed him to a diverse range of music genres. From Tomita to Gary Numan and Debussy, his love for music was solidified at a young age.
The Formative Years
Starting piano lessons at the age of 8, he quickly showed promise but was eventually let go by his piano teacher due to his penchant for dark chords and contemporary chart music. His early years were filled with musical exploration, from creating crowds in school by tweaking the Cutoff Filter and Resonance of a Roland D-5 to producing music on a 4-track drum machine and synth—a joint Christmas and birthday gift at age 9.

The Journey to "Peony Blossom"
A Multifaceted Career
Before fully committing to music, Double Triangle dabbled in various roles, including a work experience stint as a tea boy at Ninja Tune and Hydrogen Dukebox. He even studied design at the same university as Alison Goldfrapp and eventually worked for the BBC. His design contributions to the UK's NHS Covid response were even presented by Boris Johnson.
The Music: A Blend of Past and Present
"Peony Blossom" is a space-disco-inspired track that seamlessly blends nostalgia with a modern twist. It's melody-led instrumental music designed for work, study, or pure enjoyment. The track is a perfect encapsulation of Double Triangle's diverse influences, from early Depeche Mode and Erasure to modern electronic artists like Deadmau5 and Modeselektor.
In Summary
Double Triangle's "Peony Blossom" is a sonic journey that takes you through the corridors of nostalgia while keeping one foot firmly planted in the present. It's a track that resonates with anyone who appreciates the intricacies of electronic music, making it a must-listen for fans of the genre.
