Bridges Ablaze are pushing alternative metal as hard and as fast as they can; with blistering vocals and melodies that tattoo themselves onto your psyche in the shapes of skulls and serpents. ‘Hellbent,’ their latest single, is a triumph of tone, melody, harmony and attitude. Metal, and especially alternative metal, can fall into a trope of scream after scream and double kicks that send you to sleep. Not here … Bridges Ablaze have honed a sound that is modern, tantalising and full of sick licks and riffs that orbit a killer hook. It's a rock song on steroids and it gives me chills.


The atmosphere is built from the very start. The guitars and their chugging textures, the bass and its growl. The drums crash on highs and click with the kick as the duel vocals sing with masterful passion. When it's time to get loud the vocals don’t lose composure, they just go full rocker. ‘Hellbent’ is Alt-Metal at its finest, the new Kings of the genre have been crowned.
