Catch The Margaret Hooligans' Flavorful Rock 'n Roll Riot: 'What Kind Of Donut Are You'

‘What Kind Of Donut Are You’ is a single from The Margaret Hooligans that you cannot afford to pass up. It’s rocky in a way that only a hooligan can manage and full of honest and comic lines which work to bring the rock up front and centre, creating a truly captivating and unique sound. All of those words mean: it’s a damn good song and it punches well above its weight. The drums are what stand out on the first listen. They command the scene and they do so with a sublime clarity. The rolls, the bark, the stops and the pace all ebb and flow with liquid grace. They rile up that bass and get the vocals ready for the big time. Speaking of which, the hook comes from that voice! The personality and the range are exceptional. The Vox find gaps in the instrumental and uses them to their full advantage, sending us into the smashing chorus at full pelt.

Nothing quite matches the majesty of The Margaret Hooligans. They fight for rock that you play on full blast for the heck of it. They reach for the juiciest fruit on the rock and roll tree, and if you ask me, they grab it every time. ‘What Kind Of Donut Are You’ is a perfect Hooligan song. It’s bright, alive, and expressive in the most human of ways. A fantastic single.
