DAVID BARON
Stardust
Woodstock, United States
‘Stardust’ is the latest single to come from David Baron, with vocals performed by Fiona Glenn and guitars from Kevin Kadish. Together they have honed a sound that is spacey, droning and musical in a delightfully ominous way. The vocals hit harmonies that make them float above the surface of the melody, just an inch so you’re scared they could fall. Behind them synths, piano and drones create a mesmeric whirlpool of harmony that spins you around in the gloom, lit only by bright strums from an acoustic guitar. The song comes together like it was meant to be. It's solid, emotional and invigorating. Sonic meditation.
The tone that goes to work here is hard to distinguish. You feel all at once comforted and on edge as the vocals soothe you in a way that is almost too perfect — creating a feeling that there isn’t a word for. As well as I can; ‘Stardust’ gives your goosebumps goosebumps, and hushes you to sleep amongst the stars
