Jane N' The Jungle - METAL GHOST
Phoenix, United States
‘METAL GHOST (Lyric Video)’ by Jane N’ The Jungle starts with a cool animation of what appears to be a woman driving the motorbike alongside some guitar riffs which had me filled with energy for watching the video. The video then progresses to show a man standing under a tree and looking fearful which gives the sense that something is wrong and therefore makes me want to explore the concept of the video further. What I love about the video is that even though it is a lyric video it still has a backstory to it that I have never seen before.
Atomic Baby - Opium (Remix)
Wakefield, United Kingdom
‘Opium (Remix)’ by Atomic Baby starts with a very retro image of an old-school T.V which had me ecstatic as I love the retro aesthetic. The video then progresses to have a guy walking frantically around some sort of centre filled with people alongside a neon hue as a block image which completely drew my attention. The video consistently has grainy/old-school imagery which was enjoyable to see as it brings something different to the music video scene. In Conclusion, this was a great video to review, and I hope to see more of Atomic Baby in the future.
Hollywood Sirena - Un Día Más
Los Angeles, United States
‘Un Dia Mas’ by Hollywood Sirena starts with a man walking towards a theatrical-type setting and putting a tape into the T.V which gives the video a retro-type setting that was enjoyable to see. The video further shows the man playing on the drum kits and another man dressed up in all black which could connote some sort of mystery to the music video. The video was recorded in 3 different locations in which the masked man follows the main artist Hollywood Sirena which was enjoyable to see. Overall, this was a great video to review, and the concept was unique.
purplehearts - No Way Out
Ava, United States
‘no way out’ by purplehearts starts with the band rocking out to the song which gives the video a performance approach and was enjoyable to see alongside the purple neon lights. As the video progresses, we see the lead singer performing the song which adds to the performance narrative and gives it that little bit of energy throughout the music video. What I really enjoy about the song and the video is that it reminds me of the artist Machine Gun Kelly and his style. Overall, this video was very enjoyable to watch, and therefore you will enjoy it too.
Between The Echoes - Phantom limb
Columbus, United States
‘Phantom Limb’ by Between the Echoes starts with a guy changing his top and then it jumps to a woman in gothic attire on the beach. The video then jumps back to the guy in the room who appears to be emotionally distressed as the woman in gothic attire is under the bed. This is clever as it could connote some sort of demon-like creature which is attacking the man. As we further progress, we can see that the woman and the man were in a committed relationship and therefore this video shows the turmoil of a breakup. Bravo to Between the Echoes and Stephen Christian.
Allen's Hand - Poutsatron
‘Poutsatron’ by Allen’s Hand starts with the image of a burning car and then proceeds to show a store getting robbed and the shopkeeper being held at gunpoint which threw me off guard and had me excited to explore the concept behind the video. As the video progresses, we see the band performing and jump cuts to the gang causing chaos in the store. We then see the gang get into a car with someone in a chicken costume and then reveal their identity as they were covered up previously. This video was enjoyable to review and gave me my serotonin for the day.
