JUMBOKJAY - veins

Where do I start with JUMBOKJAY’s latest single? Rap is such a broad genre, in fact, I question whether it is a genre at all – rather a vocal style, a conscious set of lyricism pieced together to portray a story in a melodic usually fast nature. Catchy, full of passion. JUMBOKJAY has set his bar high with “veins”. Lil Wayne comes to mind. The vocal preset has set the tone perfectly to sit with the dark instrumentation.

The message is clear – the artist is speaking about his essence and when you strip everything back down to its vocal content, it becomes clear to see that this is a conscious effort of expression. - “I got real in my veins. I'm not fake. I'm real. I am actually existing as a thing. I'm occurring in fact. I am not imagined. I am not supposed”
