OLLA talks 'Monte Carlo', advice for female artists and plans for 2023

OLLA

Monte Carlo

Monaco, Monte Carlo

Tell us about your sound! What do you hope listeners take away from your latest release 'Monte-Carlo’?

My tracks are always based on rich arrangements. In “Monte-Carlo” we combined a modern sound with some classic instruments such as guitar and accordion. And this is exactly what let you feel the atmosphere of Monte-Carlo when listening to the song. Years and years will pass, but Monte-Carlo will always be unchangeably chic and classy. And I’m sure the listeners will catch the delicate satisfaction, gentleness and pleasure that this city radiates through my song.

Women are drastically underrepresented in music, what changes do you hope to see in the coming years?

To be honest, I’ve never experienced any sort of discrimination in music myself. Even though women are underrepresented in some spheres of the music industry, there are hundreds and hundreds of iconic female musicians and artists.

Females’ charming voice, energy and attractiveness is something you just can’t take away from the world music stage.

And I am happy that many more women now have access to the musical education. So I believe we are to see way more female producers and sound engineers in the future.

Do you feel as though there have been as many opportunities for you as there have been for your male peers in the music industry?

As a female artist I’ve never felt suppressed by male peers neither on stage, nor in any other situation. No matter the gender, we all have the same goal as musicians, which is to connect with your audience and share something meaningful and mind soothing with them.

What inspires your releases? Is there an ongoing inspiration or do you go with the flow?

I believe that life itself is full of inspirations. One can find something stimulating in almost anything that happens with and around you.

The two biggest sources if inspiration for me is my partner, who is my main supporter and the biggest love of my life, and traveling of course. I absorb the culture, history and musicality of every new place I visit. Every nation has its own unique musical motives and specifics. And I love experimenting and applying them to my songs.

What does 2023 look like for you? What do you hope to achieve this year?

I am determined to make 2023 the year of fruitful work, expanding my horizons and achieving victories.

How do you collaborate with other artists and industry professionals?

As of now, I am at the beginning of my journey. But I do collaborate with a team of extremely talented, creative and competent people. And I am very grateful for having a chance to know them and being able to work with them.

What would your advice be for other women who want to break into the music industry?

Stay true to yourself and follow your inner voice and senses.

Is there anything you'd like to say about your musical journey so far?

It took me some time to is start my musical journey. But now I’m ready as I will ever be. So, ladies and gentlemen please fasten your seatbelts. We are taking off!
