Aggressive Soccer Moms are a Lo-Fi Post Punk trio from Stockholm, Sweden. Their latest release ‘That’s How I Feel’ marks the first release from their upcoming album, which is due for release next month!
The band have recently progressed from a duo to a trio that consists of Anders Bergström, Thomas Wahlström and Stefan Wistrand who sink their roots firmly in the early punk movement of the late Seventies.
Self-described as “Monotonous and annoying. Headstrong and personal.” This trio are here to make some serious noise.
Now, let’s go through how I feel about ‘That’s How I Feel’. New Wave, Post Punk, Bedroom pop with an air of the 80s is what to expect from this release, all with the stamp of ‘Aggressive Soccer Moms’ signature flair and grit.
A furturistic reverbed bassline and white noise whisks listeners through its introduction with the addition of a surprising brass instrumentation. As the vocals enter the piece its clear to see that the inspiration here is the New Wave sound of The Smiths. An interesting combination of EDM hi hats and synth bass takes the piece into the land of 80s synth pop along with the sound of punk rock.
Aggressive Soccer Moms have an interesting artistry, one that intrigues listeners and keeps them wondering whilst exploring for more. ‘That’s How I Feel’ has a feel of The Smiths with a hint of The Killers. Definitely a band worth your attention!
