CHARLES HS has hit us with yet another single full of love, soul and textures that can be found nowhere else. ‘Moonlight’ is indie rock at its core but takes notes from modern pop and 90s rock to add some flare. The magic happens when you get to the meat of ‘Moonlight,’ the bass is rolling, the percussion is tapping in the distance and the guitars all strum the melody. When that vocal drops in you are taken away, somewhere far from where you began, the layers and the warm tones that make up the vocal shine through the instrumental fog and glow in the night. It's bright and dark all at once, silver like ‘Moonlight’ ought to be.
Indie rock has so many names and faces, so many sounds. You will be missing a big one if you skip out on CHARLES HS. It's refined and harmonic to the resonance of the soul. It's great music
