Inspired by a self-created comic book, the Canadian teen blends pop hooks and emotional depth in a powerful debut produced by Roy Hamilton III.

Chloe Sofia, the 15-year-old singer-songwriter from Milton, Canada, has made a memorable entrance into the music scene with her debut single “Pulse”, released on 8 April 2025. Created in collaboration with producer Roy Hamilton III (whose musical roots trace back to the legendary Roy Hamilton), the track marks the beginning of a promising journey for the emerging artist.

Pulse stands out not just for its infectious melody and polished pop production, but for its rich narrative. The song’s concept is rooted in a comic book storyline Chloe devised herself—a sci-fi tale about a robot who steals human organs in search of “inner beauty”. What emerges is a layered metaphor for emotional emptiness hidden behind outward charm, framed by catchy choruses and a calm yet driven pop-rock pulse.

“He looks perfect on the outside but he’s hollow inside,” Chloe explains. “The story's about how that deception affects others—and how recognising it is a form of strength.” This fusion of sci-fi fantasy and personal reflection is rare for a debut artist, and it’s made more compelling by Chloe’s candid writing style.

The track was recorded in Roy Hamilton’s Toronto-based studio, where Chloe, often starting her songs with the chorus, co-built the production from the ground up. “I usually begin with the hook to figure out the theme and then build around that,” she says, reflecting her natural pop instincts and storytelling sensibilities influenced by artists like Taylor Swift.

Balancing music and school life, Chloe performs both solo and with her band Violet Theory, and while still in high school, she’s already showing signs of a career destined for broader stages.

With its relatable message, futuristic concept, and emotionally intelligent execution, Pulse is a bold and thoughtful debut from a name we’re bound to hear more from.
