Passion/Bliss completes Coma Beach’s Scapegoat Revisited trilogy, revisiting their 1995 debut with intense, thought-provoking themes.
Coma Beach Returns With Passion/Bliss, The Final Chapter of Scapegoat Revisited
Coma Beach, the enigmatic punk rock force from Germany, has unveiled Passion/Bliss, the third and final installment in their Scapegoat Revisited EP series, celebrating the 30th anniversary of their seminal album, The Scapegoat’s Agony (1995).
Drawing upon existential dread, nihilistic introspection, and chaotic energy, the EP revisits two of the album’s defining tracks, Passion and Bliss, reimagining them with modern production while preserving their raw, poetic intensity.
The Story Behind Passion/Bliss
Inspired by Samuel Beckett’s Waiting for Godot, The Scapegoat’s Agony follows an unnamed antihero on a harrowing psychological and emotional journey. Passion and Bliss serve as two pivotal moments in this odyssey:
Passion: The antihero, having purged his mind of turmoil, is left with an unbearable void—a complete lack of emotional well-being.
Bliss: Now untethered from reality, he descends into apocalyptic visions of a world trapped in endless cycles of destruction.
Coma Beach masterfully balances ferocity and depth, wrapping punk rebellion around profound existential musings.

Coma Beach: Pushing Boundaries Since 1995
Formed by B. Kafka (vocals), Captain A. Fear (guitar), M. Lecter (drums), U. Terror (bass), and M. Blunt (rhythm guitar), Coma Beach thrives at the intersection of punk, post-punk, and alternative rock. Their influences range from Sex Pistols, Joy Division, and The Cure to Bad Religion, Therapy?, and Guns N’ Roses.
The band’s lyrical themes explore literature’s darkest corridors—Beckett’s existentialism, Schopenhauer’s pessimism, Shakespearean tragedy, and Douglas Adams’ sardonic humour—all distilled into a sonic rebellion against complacency.
A Must-Listen for Punk and Post-Punk Fans
With Passion/Bliss, Coma Beach cements their legacy as a band unafraid to challenge both musical and philosophical conventions. Available now on Spotify, Apple Music, and all major streaming platforms, this EP is an invitation to confront the chaos within.
