Sundryver are a band you need to experience. Their debut single, ‘Cross-eyed,’ is a stellar track that sits on the bleeding edge of indie rock and pushes that edge as far as it will go. Drawing from sounds of the 90s and blending them with classics of the modern day, the sound of ‘Cross-eyed’ will leave you dazed. It hits hard off the bat, catching you with early Foo vibes and sending you twirling into a deep void of rock. The vocals pick you up, saving you from the savage guitar that hypnotises with the harmonies in the bass. The lights click on and you’re surrounded. That’s when that sick chorus riff comes in and you know there’s no escape.
Sundryver are stunning. For a debut single, the sound is so refined and so ready for the big time. It’s fresh, it’s bold and it holds a heavenly flavour. When that chorus lands after the bridge … wow, just wow.
