🎧 Today’s Find: Albert Ahlf – “The MAGA Song”

Few things slap harder than a folk-rock takedown delivered with piano chops, vocal finesse, and a fearless pen. Enter Albert Ahlf with “The MAGA Song” — a satirical, riff-heavy rebuke of Trumpism and everything the red cap stands for.

Think protest music meets musical theatre — but with real rock ‘n’ roll teeth.

Witty, unflinching, and melodically rich, “The MAGA Song” takes aim at the absurdities of political extremism, using harmonies and sarcasm as weapons of choice. It's Bob Dylan with a jazz degree and a sharper knife.

Albert Ahlf isn’t just another voice in the crowd. He’s a New York-based virtuoso pianist, vocalist, arranger, educator, and jazz historian with performance credits from The Blue Note, Dizzy’s Club, and even Norwegian Cruise Lines. He holds a B.M. in Jazz Performance from SUNY Purchase and an M.A. in Music Education from Hunter College. Past collaborators include Jon Faddis, Kenny Washington, and Andy LaVerne.

Whether fronting his 8-piece Ahlfabet Swing Group or performing solo piano tributes to Duke Ellington (like his acclaimed “Black, Brown and Beige”), Ahlf’s artistry is as layered as it is politically aware. “The MAGA Song” is one of those tracks that doesn’t just entertain — it pokes, prods, and plants a flag.

And in a time where nuance is rare, this is a song that dares to say something — with groove.
