For The Ages’ latest release, ‘Mythic Bounty,’ is a jovial and upbeat pop song that will catch your ear with its intriguing melody and bright vocals. The sound revolves around a rock core, guitars and ride cymbals pave the way for the lyrics to sing their song. As the track plays the vocals fly high into the sky and slink back down to the ground, sewing their message as they go. Bass and drums litter the melody with frills and retorts, clipping the edges together with funk glue. The resulting work is a single that sings to the heart, a single that takes its inspiration from rock and pop and blends them in a perfect 50/50 shot of brilliance.
For The Ages love the wacky, the strange and the difficult. You can hear it in their music, it comes out tonal and well thought out, even the beat is relaying a message. It works, and the songs they produce are otherworldly. ‘Mythic Bounty’ earns a perilous and vigorous recommendation.
