GREENHOUSE

God-like. A Modern-day Parable

Mollongghip, Australia

Credits - Tony Mott and Michael Robinson

Greenhouse’s new single ‘God – Like’ is a classic indie/ rock hit, touching upon the need to recognise our own failures to keep us grounded and how the idea of being young and free carries more responsibility than we realise. This song is conveyed as Greenhouse’s own conversation with their younger self, and it is effectively delivered.

I thoroughly enjoyed the way they crafted this deep message into a feel-good track. The frequent guitar picking, bringing out the melodious tune and slips into drumfire will leave you playing this song on repeat. - AIMEE STOKES

It uncovers the listener's own lens, perhaps into past mistakes where we can understand our own wrongdoings. ‘God–Like’ has a unique way of keeping us grounded through the use of powerful lyricism, complimented by an infectious indie/rock tune.

I also liked how the tone of the vocals interchanged depending on the different moods throughout. In the verses, there seems to be a softer and more melancholic feel to the tone, yet in the chorus there is a sense of more urgency and passion, perhaps highlighting the necessity to take ones ‘halo away’

God–Like is the latest addition to my playlist and I look forward to their new release!
