Blending emo rap with trap-inspired vulnerability, the Florida artist freestyles his way into self-reflection on a raw, home-recorded journey.
Florida-based artist Jace Mastra bares it all on Home, Heart & Soul, his new EP released on 7 May 2025. A deeply personal project crafted in his own home studio, the EP captures Mastra’s raw reflections on love, struggle, and self-worth through a melodic blend of emo rap, trap, and autotuned soul.
Drawing inspiration from artists like Juice WRLD, Post Malone, Eminem, and Chris Brown, Mastra channels a genre-fluid sound rooted in emotional honesty. The result is a project that offers as much catharsis as it does late-night, headphones-on replay value.

Tracks like “Text Me When You Get Home” and “Stuck In A Daze” anchor the project with relatable themes of loneliness and introspection, offering a mirror to listeners navigating similar emotional terrain. Mastra describes these songs as “a reflection of the mixtures that I and others go through,” making this release especially resonant for fans of confessional lyricism and moody sonic textures.
Mastra’s unique recording process reflects his DIY ethos. Each song began with him freestyling over beats to find the right flow, followed by self-edits and a second opinion from his best friend and editor Mir, who also contributed significantly to the project’s polish. “I’d freestyle, punch in, go over it alone, then get another ear on it,” Mastra explains. “If it sounded clean, I moved forward.”
Despite having no live performances yet, the EP’s rollout is already supported by visualizers—with a music video on the way. Mastra’s long-term vision? To become a household name, built on authenticity, relatability, and grind.
His unofficial slogan “AAF” (Always and Forever)—a phrase coined with friends—has become a mantra for his budding fanbase. With Home, Heart & Soul, Jace Mastra proves he’s more than just another voice in the algorithm—he’s a storyteller with heart and something real to say.
