Updated: Aug 11, 2023

Kelly Phoenix, a U.S. based artist, has just released "Move On Up", a track that showcases his ambitious, genre-blending approach to music. This dynamic new song seamlessly combines elements of funk, pop, and dance music with nods to 80s new wave synth and 90s pop influences.

But "Move On Up" isn't just a catchy track that's easy on the ears. At its heart, the song carries a profound narrative - a message of hope and self-love that resonates with listeners long after the last note has played. Kelly Phoenix explains, "I made it to give a sense of hope that no matter what you might be going through, you must still believe in yourself and know that love is all around, you just have to tap into that frequency to receive it and give it back."

The recording process brought together talented artists from around the world. Don Boyette, renowned for touring with Michael Jackson on the Bad and Dangerous Tours, lent his bass skills to the record. Ruben Tibi, the main arranger and co-writer, handled keys and synths while Sergiu Gherman provided some horn elements. The single was produced entirely in Paris over a long period of time, undergoing multiple versions and iterations to reach its final state.

Influenced by 80s and 70s soul singers like MJ, Marvin Gaye, Prince, and George Michael, Kelly Phoenix successfully delivers a modern twist on these timeless sounds. The result is an anthem that embodies self-expression, personal evolution, and a yearning to be the best version of oneself.

With "Move On Up", Kelly Phoenix delivers a single that's not only catchy and danceable but also emotionally profound and universally resonant. It is a true testament to her talent and her deep connection with music. He says, "Even in your darkest times, always look for the light because whatever you are going through, this too shall pass."
