Raw emotion meets heavy grooves in Love Labor’s latest release—a fierce introspection captured in collaboration with Mark Stewart, aka “The Professor”.

Emerging from Detroit with fire in their veins and emotion on their sleeves, Love Labor have released “SVE FCE” on 24 April 2025—a gritty and cathartic single that captures the emotional whirlwind of wanting to run but choosing to stay. Founded by lifelong musical partners Thomas Brock and Quincy Harris, Love Labor fuse the urgency of hardcore punk with the introspective soul of post-rock to craft something both personal and powerful.

“SVE FCE” dives deep into the paradox of personal restraint—when the desire to break free is smothered by the need to preserve appearances. “Driving me insane, the way you save your face,” sings frontman Tommy Brock, voicing the turmoil of self-doubt and unresolved tension. The track’s rawness stems from its livewire origins; it was initially envisioned as a stripped-down drummer-vocalist duo. But once Ramiro (drums) and Sam (bass) joined the fold, the band’s chemistry exploded into a full-force sound that bristles with angst and attitude.

Recorded in Keego Harbor with the revered Mark Stewart—known affectionately as “The Professor”—the band credit him with harnessing their volatile energy and giving it shape. “Did you guys mean to sound like this?” he famously asked, having bottled the band’s chaotic edge into something sonically sharp and unforgettable.

“SVE FCE” is more than a song—it’s a question shouted into the void, a howl from within. Love Labor don’t just play music; they pour every ounce of frustration, hope, and honesty into it. There are no stylistic gimmicks or pandering references—just five musicians translating their lived experience into pure sound. Influences range wildly—from Sum 41 to Doja Cat—but the result is unmistakably their own.

With bar gigs under their belts and merchandise in hand, the band is keeping the DIY spirit alive and unfiltered. This isn’t music for the algorithm—it’s for the bruised, the bold, and the brutally honest.
