Malva's 'Second Floor - Live': An Unleashed Symphony of Pure Creativity

‘Second Floor - Live’ is not just a stellar single from Malva featuring modern vocals, indie guitar and some slick-as-all-heck bass and drum splits, it is also a freeing and emotional sound that comes from a place of pure creativity.

The single lashes out with fire sounds. The bright guitar is simple and it knows it, it uses all of its tone to its advantage, finding drifting beats to latch onto and flick off with a sparkle of the eye. The bass finds that sparkle and sends it home. By the time it gets there, it’s glowing like a firefly and is just as lively. The drums flick now and then, just when you least expect it, but they keep the time tight, keep the flow steady. And then there are those vocals. Proud, honest, humble and full of flavour; they command the space and seemingly the flow of time. Add all this to the organ in the chorus and you’ve got a winner.

I have to remind myself that this is live. ‘Second Floor - Live’ is incredibly tight and well-rounded for a live set and that in itself is highly impressive. But what will keep you coming back to this song is the creative heat that rises from each and every beat. This song comes straight from a musician's soul, raw and unfiltered. It is an act of natural art and a force to be reckoned with. But you should reckon with it I reckon, it’s worth all of its salt. Brilliant.
