Inspired by Interstellar, love, and the cosmos, Boston’s Mark Walsh blends heartfelt songwriting with real NASA space audio in his latest emotional pop release.
Mark Walsh, Boston’s rising pop voice, kicks off a bold new chapter with his April 18th release, “Saturn”—a track that’s as personal as it is interstellar. With plans to release a new single each month in 2025, Walsh opens this journey with a love song fuelled by deep emotion, science fiction, and sonic experimentation.
Inspired by Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar and a full moon moment on the morning commute, “Saturn” takes the theme of cosmic distance and filters it through the lens of human connection. The result is a bedroom pop ballad laced with cinematic flair, grounded in the artist’s signature melodic storytelling.
The production goes beyond standard pop. Saturn incorporates real radio wave recordings from NASA—capturing the electromagnetic frequencies of both Earth and Saturn. These ambient textures create a sense of spatial vastness, reinforcing the emotional core of the track. Walsh writes with striking intimacy, particularly in lines like “moonwalking the rings on Saturn, but if I don’t got you it don’t matter”—a lyric inspired by his girlfriend’s moonwalking dance in her bedroom.

“I wanted this to feel like a journey—not just to space, but into what it means to be tethered to someone emotionally,” Walsh explains. “The song is for anyone who’s ever felt like they were drifting, and then found someone who brought them back down to Earth.”
As an independent artist with over 150,000 organic Spotify streams and a growing fanbase across the U.S., Brazil, Germany, and the U.K., Walsh continues to build momentum with both intimate gigs and large local events, including sold-out boat shows in Boston. Saturn signals a leap forward—both creatively and personally.
Expect more from Walsh soon—this is just the first orbit.
