Olivia Rodrigo’s ‘The Book of Love’ video brings children’s perspectives into War Child’s HELP(2) project
Olivia Rodrigo has released a striking new video for The Book of Love, her contribution to the newly released charity album HELP(2) — a collaborative music project supporting War Child UK.
What makes the visual particularly powerful is its perspective. The footage featured in the video was filmed by children living through conflict in Gaza, Sudan, Ukraine and Yemen, giving the project a raw, human viewpoint that moves far beyond traditional music video storytelling.
Rather than interpreting these realities from the outside, the film allows children themselves to document fragments of their daily lives — moments of resilience, creativity and quiet survival amid instability.
The project was created to raise funds and awareness for War Child UK, with all proceeds from the album supporting programmes that protect, educate and advocate for children affected by war.
HELP(2) brings together a remarkable lineup of artists
Rodrigo’s track appears on the collaborative album HELP(2), released on 6 March 2026, which brings together a wide spectrum of artists across alternative rock, indie, soul and contemporary pop.

Rodrigo’s The Book of Love closes the album’s final side, offering a reflective moment within a project built around collective artistic support.

A creative collaboration led by Jonathan Glazer
The visual project surrounding The Book of Love was shaped by an experienced creative team.
The film was created under the creative direction of Jonathan Glazer, with Billy Boyd Cape directing the video.
Production was handled by Academy Films, with editing by Thomas Grove Carter. The wider production team included executive producer Medb Riordan, project producer Steve Overs, and producer Kishan Patel.
Together, the team worked to centre the perspectives of children themselves, ensuring their voices and experiences remained the focus of the visual narrative.
Music as a platform for advocacy
While HELP(2) showcases a remarkable lineup of musicians, the purpose of the project is ultimately humanitarian.
War Child’s work focuses on supporting children who have grown up surrounded by conflict — providing education, mental health support and protection programmes across multiple regions.
Projects like HELP(2) demonstrate how the music community can mobilise around urgent causes, bringing artists from different scenes together in support of something larger than the industry itself.
In this case, the message is simple but powerful: children living through war deserve to be seen, heard and protected.
Release details
HELP(2) was released on 6 March 2026 as a vinyl and CD bundle priced at £40.99, with proceeds supporting War Child UK and its programmes for children affected by conflict.
