WILLJACK, initially known as Doctor Zee, is one of London's best-kept musical secrets, offering charismatic performances led by their frontman, Will Jack, whose voice evokes reminiscences of Rod Stewart. With the band's robust live experience and great songs, they should be a household name. All they needed was a little discovery, and Tom Tikka did just that.
Tom Tikka, an awarded, former Sony/BMG #1 hit songwriter, discovered WILLJACK a few months ago. Impressed by Will's unique vocal sound and the band's talent, Tom offered to co-write and produce "Overnight Sensation." He added a pop hook to the rock song and transformed it into a gospel ballad, perfectly spotlighting Will's voice.
The result? A perfect blend of Will Jack’s raspy vocals, new-wave flavored guitars from Willie Jack, adventurous basslines from Paul Ringrose, Eltonish piano from Janne Saksa, and Tom Tikka’s trademark wah-wah guitars and infectious vocal hooks. With a little financial help, they started making demos that eventually landed in the inbox of label mate Tom Tikka. The rest is history, and it appears the band is ready to write a new, exciting chapter.
