‘Same’ blew my mind. I don’t use that phrasing lightly now so don’t go guffawing on me. This experimental folk-rock single from Said Sara is a mind-bindingly pleasing track that speaks to the wonderful and strange. At its core is an acoustic guitar played with oodles of emotion, so much so that you could sit and listen to it lament a soliloquy for hours upon hours. Yet, vocals appear, across the way, singing in a low register, one that cuts through your outer layers and heads straight for your core. It's intimate, surprising and enthralling. The melodies are complex, yet simple. They follow an untraceable guitar pattern with rigid musicality. The vocal harmonies glide atop the changes and wooden tones like morning fairies. It's a beautiful sound to live in.
I meant it when I said ‘Same’ blew my mind. It wasn’t at all what I was expecting and I couldn’t be any happier. Experimental, personal, golden and human. Said Sara holds a sound in their hands that is unique, and precious. If I were you I’d go sneak a peek.
