SLUMMING WITH THE SAINTS
Good Luck Slipping
Philadelphia, United States
‘Good Luck Slipping’ is the newest single from Slumming with the Saints. It's funky and full of modern disco vibes. The electric elements blend so well with the analogue, allowing a unique blend of textures to emanate from the track. It feels like Kasabian pushed through a nova filter going a million miles a minute blaring Duran Duran. The vocal style on the track is also fitting. It can be crunchy it can be clean; whatever the backing calls for the vocals are there to fill out the middle. The top is well and truly taken care of through eclectic drums and synths and the low end needs no help at all with a bass line that won’t quit no matter how hard you slap it.
The song opens hard and fast, no time to wait with ‘Good Luck Slipping’, the drums take over the space as the synths build to the vocals. The bass drops in behind it all and the snare claps along a fast and brazen melody that keeps you moving. The chorus ramps even harder, shifting gears into a layered vocal that chants and the bass keeps things interesting.
A brilliant new dance track from a name I’m sure we are all going to be familiar with very soon. Slumming with the Saints keep bringing on miracles. - FREDDIE MCKEE
