TJ Doyle is back, as we all knew they would be, with a smashing single, ‘Meant To Be Together.’ It's got that soon-to-be classic TJ Doyle feel, like country western dressed up for the rockin’ blues. It’s mellow, wild and full of fantastic ideas. The melody starts out early, powered by fantastic guitar playing, bending notes and some warm earthen bass. The drums pick up the rhythm before the vocals come into play. They shoot colour at the song from every angle. ‘Meant To Be Together’ is a sad song, yes, but there is a realisation at the core of it. The song is honest with itself, and that is what makes it all the more magical.
TJ Doyle have not just found a niche for their sound, they have grown into something more than the sum of their parts. Their songs go on to weave stories for others, and mean something different to everyone. Only fantastic art can make that claim, and that is exactly what ‘Meant To Be Together’ is. Fantastic art.
