TJPL News Magazine returns this October with Issue 46, an 80-page journey through independent music, artistic ownership, cultural exchange, new releases and the changing realities of building a career outside traditional industry expectations.

Available digitally from 1 October 2026, Issue 46 will be followed by its Limited Edition Print release from 15 October, with UK print pre-orders open now.

At the centre of the October edition sits a question that reaches considerably further than one artist: what does independence actually mean once an artist has it?

That conversation forms the basis of Ed Sheeran and the Realities of Independence, one of Issue 46's major editorial features. Rather than treating independence as an automatic synonym for freedom, the piece looks at the wider structures surrounding an artist's career and the responsibilities that arrive alongside greater control.

For the independent artists TJPL News was created to document, it is a particularly relevant conversation. Independence can offer ownership and autonomy, but it also places far more of the machinery surrounding a career into the artist's own hands.

Terra Nai Take the Cover of TJPL News Issue 46

The October cover belongs to Terra Nai, whose Foliada de Berducido takes Galician musical tradition across continents.

The feature explores a piece rooted in Galicia but reshaped through Terra Nai's creative life in Costa Rica, creating a meeting point between heritage, geography and musicians working thousands of miles from the tradition's original home.

It is exactly the kind of story that sits comfortably within TJPL News: music travelling without losing sight of where it came from.

Terra Nai's feature forms one of the principal stories within an edition deliberately spanning genres, countries and approaches to independent creation.

From SIENNÁ and Dorian to Decades Late

That movement between identities, cultures and musical ideas continues elsewhere.

SIENNÁ turns nature into sound through the cross-cultural EMA, while Dorian's RECONNECTED explores creative freedom through a genre-fluid meeting of R&B, soul, pop, dream pop and synth-driven production.

For Dorian, the album revolves around rediscovery rather than reinvention for its own sake: reconnecting with the instincts that made creation exciting in the first place.

Then there is Decades Late, who look towards the vocabulary of 90s guitar music without simply reproducing it.

On Dark Is the Light, Pt. 1, the Brooklyn band move through alternative rock, jangle pop, psychedelic textures and shoegaze while retaining the chemistry of musicians playing together in a room. The result asks what happens when the instincts of another era are allowed to evolve rather than being preserved behind glass.

When Is TJPL News Magazine Issue 46 Released?

Digital Edition: 1 October 2026

Readers will be able to access the new digital edition from the beginning of October.

Limited Edition Print: 15 October 2026

The physical Collector's Edition follows on 15 October.

Once the physical allocation sells through, availability cannot be guaranteed. Previous TJPL News issues have already sold out through the official store, making the move towards clearly defined Collector's Edition print runs an increasingly important part of how the physical magazine is presented. Independent Music, Documented Differently

There is no single version of independence inside Issue 46.

For one artist it means taking greater ownership of an already enormous career. For another it means carrying a traditional piece of music from Galicia to Costa Rica. Somewhere else it means making a record alone, returning to guitar sounds first heard decades ago, experimenting with technology or simply refusing to make the music somebody else expects.

That difference is the point.
