Fusing hard rock, funk, and hip-hop with 90s and Y2K energy, the London five-piece drop their most explosive track yet—produced by legendary rock producer Nick Tauber.

London-based five-piece Velour Fog return with a thunderous new single, ‘Fake’, released on 16 April 2025. Following the momentum of previous tracks Glue and Dopehead, this latest cut pushes their genre-bending style into even bolder territory—serving up a gritty blend of hard rock, hip-hop, funk, grunge, and nu-metal.

Anchored by face-melting guitar riffs, rapid-fire bars, and heavy rhythm sections, Fake channels the raw intensity of Rage Against the Machine and Linkin Park, laced with funk-flavoured grooves reminiscent of James Brown and Mad Kelly. It’s a sound that hits like a sonic uppercut—bringing together the swagger of 90s rap-rock with the tight production values of today.

Frontman and lead guitarist Jake delivers both electrifying solos and snarling vocal lines, while Moose on drums brings seismic power to every beat. Bassist Kacper lays down the groove, rhythm guitarist Otta adds textural punch, and co-vocalist Marshall brings a dynamic, theatrical flair to the group’s livewire presence.

Formed in 2020, Velour Fog are rapidly gaining traction in the UK’s alt-rock underground. Currently working with legendary rock producer Nick Tauber—whose résumé includes work with Thin Lizzy, UFO, and Def Leppard—the band is sharpening its edge while staying true to their rebellious roots.

With Fake, Velour Fog cement their identity as genre-fusing misfits on a mission to revive and reimagine the sound of the early 2000s for a new generation. The single is now streaming on all major platforms, accompanied by a punchy, high-energy music video available on YouTube.
