"The song everlasting was Inspired during my time in Japan in a small town called Hino Shi, just outskirts of Tokyo. Beautiful town with hills , nature and mountains around it making it so beautiful to behold. Walking around the community and interacting with the locals reminds me of Psalm 90:2.. knowing truly that God is eternal, even before the mountains, hills, creation was born, He was God. Dendê Macêdo is a world-class percussionist, singer, composer, bandleader, and teacher who resides in Brazil. “Epê Babá” is a song honoring Oxalá, the father of all the Orixas (a spirit found in the teachings of several Western African religions), who is the eldest Orixa known for wearing white and symbolizing purity and peace. Dendê’s upcoming album 'Agô' will be out on May 27, 2022, through Ropeadope Records. We'll be bringing you an in-depth album review in the near future as well as an interview with Dendê Macêdo.
