TJPL Media Network - The Vision That Couldn't Be Silenced.

As we approach the end of 2025, I've found myself reflecting on everything that we have achieved over at TJPL. I've never really shown myself through this platform. I 've always been in the background to let results speak. I think it's time to share exactly what TJPL is and why it exists. I've always been cautions about sharing its origins at the risk of appearing like I'm bragging or taking the spotlight off of its impact, but it's time to dig deeper and show you who I am and how we got here, why and what it means for artists across the globe who so desperately need the space and opportunities that TJPL has carved out.

I didn’t come into this industry through the doors people expect. I’m a mixed-race, half-Arab, lesbian woman from Balsall Heath, a place where resilience forms long before opportunity ever does. I grew up being bullied for my body, for bonding more naturally with lads than girls, for hair that was never “right” no matter how much I brushed it. Even the subjects I loved didn’t make space for me.
Music GCSE became another closed door through rigid, classical, theory-first, creativity-last. I failed not because I lacked passion, but because the system had no room for authenticity. My guitar became my refuge, the one place I could express myself without judgement, without limitation, without needing permission to exist.

So I did what was expected.
I went to university.
I completed my BA Hons in Law and Philosophy, and then went on to achieve a Masters in Education (MA) — studying while working shifts at McDonald’s and other fast-food restaurants, juggling degrees with exhaustion and survival. I followed the sensible path, the one laid out for me, even when it didn’t feel like home.
But when it came time to choose my future, I stepped off that path.
I took the leap.
No capital.
No investors.
No industry network.
Just a vision — one powerful enough to pull me forward when nothing else made sense.
That vision became TJPL.
From a single idea grew a globally distributed, ISSN-registered family of magazines archived by the British Library. A network now present on PressReader, Zinio, Magzter, Walmart and Newsstand UK. A network of magazines that thrives in the heart of Manhattan on shelves next to the greats of music media. A platform trusted by artists, respected by PR teams, and recognised across borders.
Along my own journey, I’ve secured real, legal, industry-compliant features connected to some of the biggest names in music — Eminem, Drake, Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa. I’ve heard my own record played in Abbey Road’s Studio Two to a live audience. My debut album sits on the shelves of the HMV Vault. None of this came from privilege or proximity only from persistence and belief.

I didn’t build TJPL to be famous.
I’ve never wanted that.
I built it to prove through action, what can be achieved even when the world has its own ideas about who you’re supposed to be.
To inspire.
To create space.
To show that independence isn’t a limitation, it’s a beginning.
TJPL is for the overlooked.
For the underestimated.
For the creatives who don’t fit the script they were handed.
For the ones who weren’t expected to succeed — and did anyway.
Welcome to TJPL.
A network built for truth, representation, and the belief that your origin doesn’t define your potential.
This is for the current, the next and the future generation of artists. I hope you've found your space in TJPL..
Lots of love always,
Tamara
