VIDEOS - 16/09/22- WHO'S YA FAVOURITE?! CHART

Updated: Sep 24, 2022

NUMBER 1

MARK WINK - IN A DREAM

Vienna, Austria

Where do I start with this release?! Vienna-based #MARKWINK released the video for #INADREAM just six days ago, the minute I saw the still visual of the video I was intrigued to watch it. How about you? This EDM production goes in with its visuals offering watchers a futuristic experience. This video is one of the best music videos that I have seen, ever due to its well-thought-out, well-executed and complete creative formatting. Irobot meets Star Wars is the best way to begin to explain this creation". I have no other option than to hail this my Number 1 video this week!

NUMBER 2

KALULU - I Bought you Flowers

Rotterdam, Netherlands

#IBoughtyouFlowers is the latest release from Netherlands-based group #Kalulu. This super edgy pop track lures listeners in curiosity. The song itself is genius. R&B vocals layer upon haunting keys to create a truly moving production. The video contains visuals of dying flowers and demonic-looking glitches. When combined with the sweet backdrop of the vocals the project, on the whole, looks both visually pleasing, psychedelic and scary all at the same time. I really enjoyed everything about this piece and definitely urge you to click the video above! Don't forget to vote in the poll below if this video hits!

NUMBER 3

BO WEBER - Friends - Bo Weber Feat. Amanda Yang

Minneapolis, MN, United States

Minneapolis-based independent artist #BOWEBER was a strong contender for our Number 1 spot this week. Having handled the editing of the video all by himself, #BOWEBER has shown just how much his ideas and craft mean to him through the sheer detail of this piece.

The edit uses footage from all 10 Seasons of the legendary sitcom "Friends". The meticulous attention to detail by the artist has meant that this video perfectly syncs his chosen clips to not only match the story of each lyric but has also gone to the extent of managing to lip-synch these clips to the chorus of the song! Wow. Warm, reminiscent and highly creative for a DIY budget production! I can't even begin to imagine how long this must have taken to put together!

NUMBER 4

SNAKEDOCTORS - WUSS (feat. Ada Nike)

Gdansk, Poland

We welcome #Snakedoctors back this week with their video for #Wuss. The track features a collaboration with #AdaNike. The video brings a fresh lens to our narrative - following the journey of a male and his pursuits through "South Park" style animation. Very old school. In the video we see a male get up and ready to collect a mystery woman. It then turns out that she is a member of the show that we are about to watch! I love the storytelling of the video and look forward to seeing what #Snakedoctors come through with next!

NUMBER 5

GLU - MEDACIN%

Melbourne, Australia

Australian Rap Artist #Glu is a regular sound over at TJPL NEWS. From EP reviews to TOP 10 Hip-Hop, Rap and R&B, we've continually felt the desire to support his artistry. This week we are showcasing his release #MEDACIN%. The video for the piece impressed me with its haunting nature. The use of a night vision lens gives the psychedelic feel of the production that extra power. Another great release from #Glu. What do you think? If you like what you see and #Glu is your Number 1 then vote for him in the poll below!

NUMBER 6

THE INFINITY PROCESS - Dystopia

Toledo, United States

#THEINFINITYPROCESS brings something super fresh to our finds this week. Their video release for #Dystopia was released today and I LOVE IT! The Toledo-based band was formed in 2014 and consists of three members: Kimberly Tingley (vocals), Jason Tingley (guitar/bass), and Brent Gfell (drums). This heavy rock track brings electrifying guitar riffs to a new realm whilst showing a hyper-lapse aerial view of a city at night. This is not all that we see so early on! These are combined with glitch overlays and a zooming lens. All of this is present before 16 seconds in! Wow. At 15 seconds, we see the introduction of the lyrical content as they act as a further overlay. This is a production that looks so simple due to the clockwork piecing together of each part!

NUMBER 7

NASMORE - When Will I Learn

Regina, Canada

Canadian artist #nasmore has teamed up with Cris Hodges and Neil Taylor (A former member of ‘Tears for Fears’) to bring his latest release to life! When discussing the inspiration behind the track #nasmore stated the following. "some songs motivate you enough to join a crowd of thousands holding out their lighters and singing along in celebration. Hope this is one of them." The video for the release has been thoroughly thought out to provide the watcher with a variety of visuals from written to the collaborative nature of several people. This is just great! Make sure that you click the link above to watch the video and hear the track in depth!

NUMBER 8

BEL-LA - Nothing's Gonna Get You Back

Los Angeles, United States

"Nothing's Gonna Get You Back" is the latest revelation from Los-Angeles based artist BEL-LA. The song itself " When talking about the inspiration for this song she makes clear that it "was really the sentiment of loss in general, loved ones passing, relationships ending etc and how even though these things are no longer in a physical form they still exist so strongly all around us and in our memories, and the fabric of our vast lives." This is something that everybody can relate to no matter who you are, what you believe, when you experience it or where you live making this such a touching piece. The video is a highly touching visual for a song with such a sentimental message.

NUMBER 9

JESUS OR A GUN - CRAZY

Lisboa, Portugal

#CRAZY is a video release from Portuguese rock group #JesusOrAGun. Taking influence from the 80s and classical rock this group have presented an interesting piece for sure! The video for the track provides their audience with cinematic idents before transitioning into the merging of a lyric video and studio footage. The overlays on the footage offer that classic old-school rock and roll feel which matches the heaviness of the track itself. There are some super slick guitar riffs here along with visuals of that guitarist as he does his thing! classic Love it! Want to vote for #JesusOrAGun? scroll down to the bottom of the page!

NUMBER 10

LATO - Camouflage

Milan, Italy

Milan-based rock band #LATO introduced us to their video release for #Camouflage this week and I was really impressed. The video offers many camera shots of the same scene in a paced flicker of transitions. I really love the effect that this had on me as a viewer as it captured my intrigue and attention simultaneously. The scenes vary from indoor to outdoor and from earth to air to keep the attention of the audience. I wonder what the future has in store for this band. Have you heard their music yet? If not, you know what to do!
