Updated: Oct 29, 2022

NUMBER 1

ECHEZONA - TMH

Boston, United States

"E-C- to the H-E and nobody do it better, huh? are the opening words from Boston-based rapper ECHEZONA's latest release "TMH". The purpose of this song is to act as a beacon for everyone who hates feeling pigeonholed or stereotyped. With one clear message, ECHEZONA makes it clear that he won't be boxed into one thing by anything or anybody.

The multi-lingual singer, rapper, and songwriter brings a skilfully mixed tempo of bars on top of layers of 808s, bell synths and trap drum loops. "TMH" is super catchy, perfectly crafted and executed to perfection making it my NUMBER 1 this week!

NUMBER 2

Who's ready for some trap and gangster rap? White $osa is back with a new release! "THE ONLY" provides a collaboration between artist White $osa and TP808 that will blow your brains! An eerie bell synth immediately sets listeners up for the urgency of the rap flow alongside the subtle 808s that linger in the background of the production.

NUMBER 3

ERIK EVY - Sunday Morning

Chicago, IL, United States

Credit - Danny Dominguez

Erik Evy is an artist that I see as humble, dedicated and pure. His latest work is a collection of four hip-hop-inspired songs that comprise an EP of minimal yet purposeful production. The title of this project? "Matinee" meaning the afternoon showing before primetime. After hearing this project I was more than excited to see what "primetime" looks like for this star! I have chosen the track "Sunday Morning" to include in our Top 10 this week. This ultimate lounge hip-hop song sees Erik Evy talk listeners through questions surrounding what it means to grow up, pursue music, live alone, and the power of releasing music to the world.

NUMBER 4

ERIC COHEN - God Gave Me You

Kansas City, United States

Credit - Ryan Upton

ERIC COHEN brings a whole lot of love to our finds this week. His latest release entitled "God Gave Me You" is a devotion to God and the woman he calls his partner. Taking influence from Hip-Hop artists such as Mac Miller, Tupac and Eminem ERIC COHEN brings smooth and classic old-school Hip-Hop vibes. The rap flow and the beat are reminiscent of the late Mac Miller in particular. The beat was produced by AJC and the vocals were recorded by ERIC COHEN himself in his home studio before being mixed and mastered by Uptown.

"God Gave Me You" is a must-hear song due to its welcoming hip-hop drum loops and highly skilful and meaningful lyrical content.

NUMBER 5

ADRI-ANNE RALPH - Make Me Feel

Anaheim, United States

Next up is ADRI-ANNE RALPH with her newly released single "Make Me Feel". Although the track was released just yesterday the artist states that she actually wrote the song back in 2018 with the hope of creating a feel-good track that addresses the emotions associated with finding a new romantic adventure.

Taking inspiration from R&B/Neo-Soul, ADRI-ANNE RALPH and her producer drew inspiration from artists such as Aaliyah and H.E.R. to create a blend of Pop and R&B that is sure to have you drifting above and up into the clouds. From the vocal chops to the melodic keys, this track is guaranteed to Make YOU Feel.

NUMBER 6

KENN FARR - I Go Get It

Dallas, Tx, United States

Dallas-based Rapper Kenn Farr is an extraordinary master of dark rap flows. His latest single "I Go Get It" is quite a production. The production is the fifth single off Kenn Farr's upcoming, 2nd album titled 4013. Riding on a haunting bell synth and classic Hip-Hop drum loops, Farr goes in with his deep and husky rap flow. His lyrics? Gloomy, angry? Full of passion for sure. The song even goes as far as to mention Halloween and trick or treat, do you feel the vibe? The self-proclaimed Gospel Hip Hop & Rap Contemporary Artist has a lot of success under his belt to date including already being seen and heard by over 5,000,000 people in commercials such as Bank of America and I.B.M.

NUMBER 7

LUCAS BURN - Nightmare

Gdansk, Poland

STOP, LOOK AND LISTEN! LUCAS BURN is back with a cinematic, super catchy rap track that will have you looking both ways!

Lucas Burn is an artist on the rise both in his home country of Poland and beyond whose aim is to breathe the fresh air of hip-hop. The third single from his much-awaited album named "Nightmare" mixes hip-hop with orchestral sounds to create a sound that is distinctly his own.

The lyrics channel the inner demons and reflect on the artists' childhood years, growing up in what Burn describes as "an abusive upbringing". The talents of this artist are not to be missed so make sure that you give this song a listen!

NUMBER 8

MUNK DUANE - Myths

Boston, United States

“Myths” is the latest single release from Boston-based artist, Munk Duane. The song offers a lo-fi sound through a guitar opening. The rawness of the opening is something that will warm your heartstrings! Shortly into the production, the presence of soulful R&B Waltz takes the spotlight in this mix of acoustic soul rock and R&B. It is rare that a song as versatile as "Myths" makes an appearance in our Top 10 Hip-Hop, Rap & R&B so it was great to find a song that integrates so many genre influences in this way!

The lyrics speak the empowering message that we should "seize the reins of our lives". On that note, I think that you should seize the moment and click the link below to hear "Myths" for yourselves!

NUMBER 9

MOCC - Figure 8

Nashville, United States

2022 has seen some great releases from some brilliant artists and Nashville’s Mocc has been no different. ‘Figure 8’ kicks off with a slightly eerie backing, think-watered-down Tiny Tim, and some almost humorous ad-libs. This track fast becomes a classic 90’s feel hip-hop rap, which kind of shocks the system after hearing such a modern intro. With a beautifully deep beat and aggy lyrical genius, the flow on this is insane!
